The story begins with Kati, a sassy and sharp-tongued girl from Nakhon Nayok. She came to study at a university in Bangkok to have a better life and earn money to support her mother so that she could stop selling rice with curry in the countryside. After graduating, Kati took her savings from part-time work as a pretty girl and partnered with a friend to open a herbal shabu shop. The shop seemed to be doing well, but then her friend’s boyfriend, who was her partner, cheated her out of money. He also tricked Kati into signing a loan agreement with an informal lender. Before she knew it, her friend and boyfriend ran away, leaving Kati to be hunted down by Hea Khanong, an informal lender. Then fate led Kati to meet Plad Likhit, who came to do business at the ministry in Bangkok. While Kati was running away from the debt collector gang, Kati dropped her wallet. The clerk saw her and helped pick it up, then ran after her, hoping to return it. However, Kati misunderstood that the clerk was part of the debt collector gang who was out to catch her. Kati hit the clerk on the head with a stick. Then Kati headed straight back to her hometown, Sai Ngam, to see her mother and uncle. But in the end, fate led Kati and the clerk to meet again.
